Oral health takes centre stage this November

What they both stress in this chat with NCD Alliance is how the adoption in 2021 of a World Health Assembly resolution flipped the way that most people thought of oral health—primarily as something isolated from general health. Both Dr Kavanagh and Dr Chadwick are preparing for the first-ever World Health Organization global meeting on oral health organized to accelerate implementation of the Global oral health action plan 2023–2030 as part of broader NCD and UHC agendas. The silo has been removed and replaced by integration and a multisectoral approach to oral health, which shares many risk factors with NCDs.
