Abstract :

Dental implant treatment is no longer a difficult treatment performed only by specialists, but has become the most common treatment encountered by all dentists in their daily practice. When dentists begin to start implant treatment, they focus on surgical considerations about how to operate, and how to manage soft tissue and bone graft. But in the long run, we realize that the success of implant treatment is more influenced by prosthetic treatment and occlusal schemes , so we focus more on the type of implant restoration and occlusal schemes.
Recently, with the development of digital dentistry, there is a transition to treatment that determines the location of implant placement and bone graft based on the position and anatomy of the restoration. Through this, dentists were able to better treat the implant placement location and the shape of the restoration. Additionally, much is being done about the occlusion and occlusal scheme of current implant restorations.
In this lecture, I will explain the latest knowledge on the type of implant restoration and implant occlusion, which play an important role in the long-term success of implants, based on academic evidence.

Learning objectives :

  • Learn shape and contour of proper implant restoration

  • Review key principles of implant occlusion
