Exciting news: International Dental Journal impact factor continues to increase
Glad tidings as FDI’s flagship journal continues to reach new heights with an improved impact factor.
FDI is thrilled to announce that the 2021 Impact Factor for the International Dental Journal (IDJ) has increased to 2.607 in 2021 from 2.515 in 2020.
The scientific voice of dentistry
IDJ is FDI's primary scientific publication. Published every two months, the IDJ features peer-reviewed articles relevant to oral health worldwide.
In January 2021, the journal entered a gold open access era with no subscription charges. The articles focus on practice-related research, international public health, and interprofessional education and practice. The journal also publishes concise reviews that synthesize the state of the science on pertinent issues for oral health professionals. In addition to these sections, IDJ editor-in-chief, Prof. Lakshman Samaranayake, has also increased the scope and remit of the journal to incorporate multidisciplinary topics that impact dental practice today such as infectious diseases, artificial intelligence, and teledentistry by adding a new major subsection on “Science and Technology in Dentistry”.
