Abstract :
Dental trauma presents clinicians with time-sensitive and biologically demanding clinical decisions. Advances in pulp biology and regenerative approaches have progressively shifted the treatment paradigm from pulp removal toward preservation whenever feasible. This presentation will explore an evidence-based, biologically driven approach to the management of traumatic dental injuries, with particular emphasis on complicated crown fractures, pulpal diagnosis, vital pulp therapy, and immature permanent teeth. Clinical decision-making will be discussed in relation to trauma severity, root development, pulp status, restorability, and treatment timing. Through challenging clinical cases, practical strategies will be presented to support predictable pulp preservation and guide the management of complex traumatic situations. The presentation will highlight how integrating current evidence, biological principles, and clinical judgment can improve long-term outcomes following dental trauma.
Learning objectives :
- Identify the factors that influence pulpal healing and treatment outcomes following dental trauma.
- Evaluate traumatic dental injuries and select appropriate treatment strategies based on pulp status, root development, and restorability.
- Implement biologically based protocols for pulp preservation and the management of complex traumatic dental injuries
