Abstract:

Bruxism might cause many problems intra and extraoral areas. Treatments for relieving these problems and emerging symptoms vary among colleagues. Occlusal splints are one of these treatment types and their effectiveness has been proven in dental literature.

Today, analog workflow is replaced by digital tools and applications in the field of dentistry. 3D Printers help us to produce any geometrical object we want in an extremely fast, cheap and easy workflow. However, our treatment protocol remained the same as with analog treatments.

In this lecture, current treatment concepts and expected future developments will be shared.

Learning objectives:

  • Bruxism and related problems
  • Treatment alternatives
  • Construction techniques of occlusal splints, analog & digital
  • Future concepts, Artificial intelligence
